Tim Woolard with a Young Eagle copilot |
Young Eagles refers to the many initiatives that the Experimental Aircraft Association has to introduce people under 18 to the world of aviation. This includes giving free rides to young people. The EAA set a goal of giving airplane rides to 1,000,000 young people before the centennial of powered flight, December 17, 2003. We are proud to have achieved that goal. Our own Young Eagle coordinator, Tim Woolard, personally flew Young Eagle number 800,000. The EAA has now flown more than 1,200,000. Watch this space for upcoming Young Eagles events. Or come to one of your regular meetings. Or contact Tim Woolard. Note that we have a form that must be signed by a parent before we can fly. |
