EAA Chapter 1423

Meeting Summary

July 15, 2006

 

 

 

The meeting was called to order at 10:05.

 

George welcomed returning members and visiting guests including members from EAA Chapter 1386 from Grantham County.  They included George Moore, Robert Ross, Shane Kilpatrick and Bob Woods.  They have invited our chapter members to join them every 2nd Saturday for a pancake breakfast at Mt. Olive. 

 

Lonnie Best from Rich Square was a guest as well.

 

The minutes from the last meeting were reviewed and approved. 

 

The group discussed the 3rd Saturday in October for a possible date for the fly-in.

 

The group discussed the program for next month’s meeting as a lesson in machining.

 

Berry St. John announced the sale of all equipment belonging to Rodney Godley as he is getting out of the crop dusting business.

 

Marv Jensen brought information concerning the New Bern Chapter and shared with the group.  It was suggested that maybe our two clubs would like to keep communicating and participate together in activities.  The New Bern Chapter meets every 4th Saturday.  The motion was made and seconded that EAA 1423 develop a liaison with the New Bern Chapter.  The motion was passed.  George suggested we go visit the New Bern Chapter.  Tim announced that there are some who already participate in a Poker Run with that chapter.

 

The meeting ended at 10:30 followed by an excellent program by Bob Woods about the restoration of the Ford Trimotor and a meal provided by Tim and Billie Woolard.
