Meeting Summary
January 20, 2007
The meeting was started at 10:05 by George.
George invited all original members to sign the Charter. Once everyone has signed the Charter it will be framed.
Other business: Insurance and Dues have been paid to EAA National for 2007. We have 24 chapter members who are also national members.
Upcoming events:
George updated the group on the Aero-Electric Seminar. The seminar will be conducted by Bob Nuckolls on March 24th and 25th. There are now 14 participants signed up for the seminar according to Tom Saccio. To meet the minimum class size, 6 more people need to sign up by the middle of February. Our chapter website features a link to the Aero-Electric webpage if anyone would like to register for the seminar.
The seminar will be held at Charles Lewis’ shop. Lunch will be catered. Dinner may be catered or if a suitable location found, the participants may go out as a group on that Saturday night.
George encouraged the group to sign up for meals and / or programs for the upcoming months.
The February program has been set up by Berry St. John. He will be bringing a great World War II hero to speak to the group. George will send an email inviting other chapters to hear the guest speaker.
Tom Saccio updated the group on the Wright Flight program that he and Sandy have been working on in Washington. The first class was completed with 7 graduates. On 2/10/07, these 7 kids will get a flown by Tim Woolard and Tom. It has been set up as a Young Eagles event. On 2/13/07, Charles Lewis will be starting a class in Greenville. We as a chapter are going to support this project either financially or with teachers. Charles will work on a schedule to see how many classes could be completed in a year. We will then sign up people who would like to teach the 9 week course.
George will reorder gray t-shirts and sweatshirts to sell.
Pitt Community College will be starting a Ground School class for Instrument Rating in February. The class costs $65.00.
The meeting ended at 11:00 followed by a program on fabric covering by John Knapp and a meal provided by Marv and Laurlie Jensen.
