EAA Chapter 1423

Meeting Summary

April 15, 2006

The meeting was called to order at 9:45 by George.

George welcomed members and visitors Jim Davis and Bob Woods.

The minutes from the March 18th meeting were reviewed and approved.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved.

George gave the group a review of Sun N Fun 2006.  Several members attended Sun N Fun and shared their opinions of the Fly-In.  George shared with the group that he, Heather, John and Laura Lee attended the EAA Chapter Leaders BBQ while at Sun N Fun.  All who attended the BBQ had positive things to say concerning the support that EAA can offer to our young chapter.

George also shared with group highlights from his trip to Fantasy of Flight in Florida.

Charles Lewis visited Fantasy of Flight as well and shared photos that he took while there.

George reminded the group of the May meeting in Lumberton during the Mid-Atlantic fly-in on May 20th.   Plans will be finalized by mid-week prior to the event depending on the weather forecast.

The following months are open for program volunteers:  September, October and November.

The following members have volunteered for meals:

June – Tim Woolard

August – Wiley Price

September – Josh Brehm

We still need volunteers for July, October and November.

George talked briefly about the website and asked for volunteers to assist Bob Neil in updating the site.  Wes Banks has volunteered to help in this area.

Charles Lewis gave an update to the group.  It is his hope that the hangars will be ready in a week or two.  The road should be paved within a month.

The meeting ended at 10:40 followed by a very informative program by Mr. Bob Woods, and a meal provided by George and Heather.
